The Perfect Apple Cocktail this Winter

As winter is here, it’s time to pack on the layers of clothes to get warm and cozy up with a soul soothing drink in hand. So, at Flair Project we have come up with the perfect cocktail to do just that this winter season. Apples tend to remind us of home and family, as they are so often used in comfort food and holiday meals. With that in mind, we decided on a folksy recipe, seasonal harvest, and a touch of warming Scotch liqueur. The “Go for Granny” is perfect for a featured drink at your bar, a get together with friends, or a lazy afternoon with the family.

The perfect apple cocktail this winter

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz Casamigos Blanco Tequila
  • 0.5 oz Drambuie
  • 0.75 oz Granny Smith Apple Juice (Freshly Pressed)
  • 1 Fresh Basil Leaf (plus one for garnish)
  • Mezcal (for the rinse)

Instructions

  1. Rinse a coupe glass with Mezcal (to save time, pour Mezcal in a fine mist spray bottle and spray the inside of the coupe glass)

  2. Add all ingredients in a cocktail shaker

  3. Add ice and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds

  4. Double strain into a Mezcal rinsed coupe glass

  5. Float a fresh basil leaf on top of the drink

Apple Juice Extraction
  1. Wash and dry 2 Granny Smith Apples
  2. Cut the apples into small cubes (1-2 inches)
  3. Run the apple cubes through a juice extractor to separate the pulp from the juice
  4. Fine strain the juice through a mesh strainer to discard all leftover solids
  5. Pour into a glass container and seal

(1 medium Granny Smith Apple usually yield about 3-4 oz of fresh juice and retain good flavor for up to a day)
